If you live in Brooklyn, where do you buy your large appliances, and why?

Town (Lakewood), Drimmers, Duddy's, Plugins (these 3 are located in Brooklyn) or another place?

Marine Park Appliances. An acquaintance of mine is in sales there and always gives me a better price than everywhere else.

Would not recommend Town. PC Richard was helpful and somewhat knowledgable in Shabbat mode appliances.

You can try Yudin's in NJ- very knowledgeable and reasonable.

Town appliance was extremely knowledgeable in the Shabbos mode oven that I bought from them. I'll continue to buy appliances from them in the future, even if they do charge tax. Their knowledge of Shabbos mode appliances is worth it to me.
Amother ginger why are you anonymous?

I'm anonymous because I only ever post on this site like that. I don't need people figuring out who I am because I tend to respond to threads with relevant personal information.

Either way of course Town is knowledgeable in Shabbat mode - it's a Jewish company. But I will never recommend them because they screwed my parents over terribly and were just not nice to deal with.

What do you mean by this? How were they not charging sales tax up until now?

Not so smart to post this on a public website...

You don’t need to charge if it’s out of state .

You can only charge sales tax in a state where you do business. If you deliver out of state there's no tax. Now that they have a business location in NY they have to collect sales tax from NY customers.

And to answer OP, I've been very happy with everything I've bought from Town.

One or two appliances I buy by S&W in Williamsburg. I recently bought new a few at once for renovation I did it by world of appliances through their shop at home service. Was the best thing. Extremely knowledgeable and very nice. Great experience.
ETA: they won't come down for one or two it has to be a few.

I have been usimg Town for large appliances (dishwasher, washer dryer, a/c) for 30 years. Ive always been thrilled with their knowledge, recommendations , professionalism and service.
Small appliance purchases are always made at Duddys for the same reasons.
I live in Boro Park and buy almost everything I can on Amazon, but Duddys and Town have earned my business by standing behind the products they sell... and that includes parts and service

Previously you didn't need to charge tax for out of state orders. Things have changed in the last year.
