I don’t know why this is, but on shabbos my fingernails form a pact to all produce hangnails during these 24 hours.
This shabbos, I was prepared. I put on nail polish. I filed them. (I can’t pay for manicures) and I congratulated myself and suddenly, as I’m lying in bed, I feel something weird on my foot. Turns out some huge blister I didn’t even know I had broke and there was skin everywhere. (Sorry, it’s not as hideous as it sounds). And then I felt one of my nails broke.
So basically, it goes like this. My mantra:
“Don’t touch it just forget it ignore it.”
Ten minutes later:
Touchtouchtouchripandpullandshred
How do I stop this? I’m sick about being mechalel shabbos literally every week!!! What do I do?

For your fingernails: Can you cut them short so there is less chance of them breaking?
Not sure what to do about blisters... sleep with socks on? Wear comfortable shoes so you don't get blisters in the first place?
