I’m almost 1 yr doing keto and 10 months keeping my carbs under 20 TOTAL carbs

First month lost 10lbs
The next 6 months lost 15lbs

Since March it’s been up 2 down 2, so basically plateaued

In the past 3 weeks starting to gain weight
Now I’m up 6 lbs.

I do 16/8 if, sometimes my eating window is even less
Also I started doing pilates 3x a week, 1 hr., started 3 weeks ago, which correlates with weight gain

Any advise is appreciated

BTW- I’m menapausal and started having hot flashes 51yrs old.
If it’s just something I need to wait out I will

This happened to me. I just kept plugging. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Your body is healing.

Hi Op, I'm not an expert, but I would guess you are eating too little! On keto you should be eating a LOT of veggies and a certain amount of protein and fat, and it sounds to me that you arent getting nearly that amount. You may be holding onto your fat stores at this point to conserve energy. The intermittent fasting is great, but during your eating Window you need to consume the right amount of calories for your height and age, especially if you have begun an exercise program...

Also, larger meal should be in the morning and lunch, smaller at supper. And look into coffee as a known hormone disrupter during menopause.

I’m 5’0

I eat 2 meals a day within an 8 hr window
So you’re suggestion is to switch everything around and have my butter coffee in the evening, decaf of course.

I only drink decaf or 0 caf. Chicory

And before someone says I’m putting on muscle. It’s not because my new clothes is fitting tighter

I can’t honestly answer what’s too much or two little. I eat to satiety so each day for me is different. I’m ofthe opinion that we have to do what worked for us. I’m pretty sure for ME this is too much food. But I’m also five one and menopausal

So it’s probably too much food
But if not I’m hungry in between
I guess I’m not fat adapted yet

I’ll try reversing my IF, since the butter coffee doesn’t count as breaking the fast

Eye floaters have almost disappeared
Joint pain 80% better
I don’t crave sweets
Plus I enjoy my fatty meals

I'm a fan of dr eric Berg-healthy keto
He talks about all things keto.
He says if u are having menopausal ymptoms u may need adrenal support ( the adrenals take over a lot after menopause) cortisol also causes weight gain so this is something u should look into.
Also he says u need a lot of potassium-so juice some veggies/have salads-like 7-10 cups of veggies a day

My salad at dinner is quite large
Plus I have 1 cup of cooked veg
Don’t know if it’s 7-10cups, probably closer to 5-7 cups

Could it be that you just need to cut down a little on calories? I’ve been doing Keto and reached a plateau with my weight loss and realized that I have to scale back. Oil and fat has a lot of calories and they can add up really fast.

I’ve been considering g weighing and measuring what I eat for a time to get a bead on exactly how much that is. In no way do I starve myself but clearly something has to give if I ever want to lose weight at more than a snails pace ever again.

I think this is a short menopausal ( in my case) problem and that calories do matter because I only burn so many calories metabolically.

From the place of stability I’ve achieved over the past two years, I am willing to do this not to meet a caloric goal, but to actually see what I’m actually ingesting.

I’ll never change the way I eat, and if I have to stay fat forever to stay stable with the 90 pounds I’ve lost, then ok. But I feel like it might be time for me to try anyways. Nothing drastic just small changes. You can’t really be much more drastic than I am already anyways. Lol
