I got myself a pair of new crocs-ordered them myself from my hospital bed. Felt good to come home to a fresh pair of slippers.
MIL got me two nightgowns to wear in the hospital and some matching hair scarves.
I kept the hair scarves, but not really a nightgown person so gave those away.
Lots of people brought me food, and little outfits for the baby.

I think if theres a special perfume that you save for intimacy, then it can be a problem to wear it when you're a nidda. Otherwise, it's fine. People wear perfume daily.

I actually have separate perfumes for non-niddah and niddah - one that my DH and I both like, and one that I like.

Meals - nice filling ones, not just light ones
Help
for me the first time around what has stuck most in my head is how many times my mother told me "you're such a good mother". I really appreciated that - it made me feel good about myself and my motherhood, confident in what I was doing, etc. during a time that can be more vulnerable and new and self conscious etc.
Second time around all the help with my toddler - both kids - in addition to meals was huge.
Cleaning help is always nice.
but like other posters said - each woman is different some may want space some may want lots of company etc

Healthy lunches sent the first week or two! So important but you don't have energy to prepare and you end up grabbing easy junky stuff instead.
