My DD is small, but her binder doesn't fit in a smaller backpack.
What are the options?

I get all my kids from play group and up full size backpacks. My little kids need space for a lunch bag and whatever projects they bring home and my older one uses it in the summer for all their swim stuff like a full towel. I also like to get bags that will last a few school years so bigger is better in that regard as well.

14" are perfect size for 1st graders. The full sized are 16/17", I find them way too big for little kids.

The Land's End size "small" was perfect for my kids from k-2. Smaller than other full size backpacks but bigger than kiddie ones, big enough for small binders.

The Mckenzie backpack from pottery barn kids size Small is perfect for 1St to 4th grade. My kid got one for her graduation gift from her grandmother. Perfect sizing.

Yes she needs a backpack that will fit a thin looseleaf binder and folders.
Gap usually has a junior backpack that's perfect.
