I understand from this forum what a challenge it can be to cover exorbitant tuition fees.

I live in London and we’re finding tuition eats up a large chunk of our income.

I’m not trying to lessen anyone’s struggles, I want to understand what it would be like if we had to pay what imamothers must pay.

DH earns £32,000
I earn £12,000
School fees are £5,200 per child
That’s approximately 8.5% of our earnings.

I believe our income is fairly typical.

Would be interested in all opinions.

What's 8.5%?

5,200 is almost 12% of your earnings and after the tax comes off your dh's salaries, it's probably more than 12. That's for one child. How many do you have /pay for? It can't be easy.

Both dh and my salary are higher, but after tax, tuition for 3 and childcare for 1 it's a big chunk cut out.

You’re right, it was far too late for me to be posting.

We have two children, paying over 10k each year. But we feel very blessed we are able to afford it.
