Can anyone recommend a general doctor (for well-visits, sick visits, etc..) in the Lakewood area for myself, DH, and adult (over 18) children?
I am specifically looking for a non-frum office. I want privacy and don't want the secretary or office staff to be my neighbor, family friend, or child's classmate.
Which practice do people use, anywhere in the general vicinity, that meets the above criteria?
TIA!

I'm not aware of any non frum practices but Chemed, Dr. Preschel, Dr. Cohen/Lempel are all good practices.

Those are the ones "everybody" uses because those are the only frum ones here. Doesn't mean they are good and you definitely won't have privacy.

This. I have tried all of the above. You are lucky if you even get to see an actual MD.
My OB told me need a new GP because she noticed I have some stuff that need care ASAP. But these places either don’t have the time to even listen to symptoms , or they are so used to routine non emergency that they don’t know how to diagnose something other than strep.
I’ve had as PA cut me off to assure me that my throat was sore due to allergies . I tried to explain I had come to discuss severe gastro and chest pain . I said wait I have more symptoms and she said just try the nasal spray ok ? And walked out
More stuff like this ...

Dr. Schoner has a reputation of being a "better" practice but don't know if that's hype or not. It might be hard to get into so maybe that's the hype or that keeps it from turning into an assembly line.

I have had similar experiences with the PAs in CHemed but I have found that Dr. Bacon takes the time to listen and follows up thouroughly.

I’ve heard Dr May is good. You can try Dr Riss in Brick. I’ve heard he’s good. Also frum, but office my not be typical Lakewood style.

The urgent cares are full of young people working there, and I'm not comfortable with the privacy level.
I really wish I knew of a non-frum practice that we could join.

I’ve tried this route. Didn’t work. I was told I’m not going to die overnight but need to discuss with my GP as soon as I can....
They said in general urgent cares only address an urgent issue at hand and unless it’s just strep etc, they tell you to follow up with GP.

Does she have her own practice elsewhere or is Chemed the only place she sees patients?
(I don't want to go to Chemed.)

I like Dr green at Dr cohens office. She listened to my concerns and I brought up all my issues. She recommended specialists and gave me prescriptions. She printed out a paper w everything we talked about.

There are 2 older ladies when I come in. The girls in the back that write referrals and do billing are younger. The nurse that brought me to the room was not so young

There is a mixture of age groups that work there. I’ve had younger and older check me in, take me back, testing, and checkout. Things may have changed, as I stooped going there sone time ago.

(sigh) we would prefer an office where our privacy is not compromised, and where we don't meet people we know as staff there. I wish I knew who was good in the non-frum-Jewish world. I would just rather have a greater level of privacy when it comes to my medical needs.
