I am sick of book-bags ripping the week after school starts. Are Lands End bags much more sturdier?

My son's Land's End bookbag has made it through the summer. So far so good.
I have an L.L. Bean bookbag that's 22 years old. It's as sturdy as ever.

My son just finished the 3rd year with his Lands End backpack. It will get a wash at the end of August and start year number 4.

If your kids like being trendier, Kipling bags are also very sturdy. You can get them on sale on labor day for great prices.

My bag from elementary is still in perfect condition and being enjoyed.

All of them have lasted me 2 years. My kids know every 2 years we get new bags (even though typically the old ones are still great). And on sale they aren’t even that expensive. (Today you can get $20 with 50% coupon).

Mine lasted great. One DD had the size small I think since kindergarten, and the zipper broke in middle of 3rd grade, when she was just about ready for the bigger (medium) size anyway (which I had already bought on sale in the summer.) The other DD's is still going strong. This is after using the same backpacks for daycamp as well as school, and they get dragged through everything in camp. They're not officially machine washable but I put them through the washing machine before Pesach and at the end of the summer and they're doing fine.
