Yeah, they're all over the place. But I want a tried and true one. All the recipes say, use soon after making, don't freeze well. Though I did see, you can freeze and soften before eating.

Which is why I'm appealing to you all. I'd love any recipes, not just straight bananas, I also have some frozen strawberries.

TIA!

Thanks! I have to avoid pb for this but I'll file it. I guess my question is, freezing long term, like 2-3 weeks or so isn't a problem?

I never tried freezing it, but I don't think it'll work. I think you'll just end up with icy like texture and it won't taste creamy at all. Let me know though if you try it.

Can you use almond butter? Any nut butter? I think it really needs the fat.

It's ok frozen but the texture is much better fresh, and it's so easy to make!

But what if you want to make it earlier in the week for Shabbos?

I'd definitely use some kind of nut butter. And let it sit out of the freezer for like 10 min before scooping.

Im hooked on "Nice Cream" but Im wondering if anyone thought of variations. Ive been following the recipe w Bananas, cocoa and peanut butter, just I use more peanut butter to make it taste less "banana-ey". I added chocolate chips once but I think I prefer it smoother (no chips).

What can I do to change the flavor? Any other fruits I can add?

Thanks for keeping the conversation going.
I'd rather avoid nut butter.

For the result to have a creamy texture, as opposed to sorbet thats more icy, you need some kind of fat.

Would canned coconut milk work?

Heres a recipe that doesnt have nut butter and uses coconut milk, that I might try:

Ingredients

4 frozen sliced bananas
4 soft pitted Medjool dates (soak in hot water if firm)
1/2 cup canned light coconut milk
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
4 tablespoons toasted unsweetened coconut flakes

How to Make It
Place bananas, dates, coconut milk, and salt in a food processor. Process until smooth, scrape sides of bowl occasionally. Spoon about 3/4 cup soft serve into each of 4 bowls; top each with 1 Tbsp. coconut flakes.

My DH and I love this recipe. We make it all the time.

Approx one cup of milk.
3 to 4 frozen bananas
A spoonful (or more!) Of peanut butter

It is yum! And pretty filling as well.

If you have an ice cream maker you can run it in for 10 minutes and freeze, let it sit 5-10 minutes before serving.
I make it with any fruit and is great.
There is a tropical one with banana, caned pineapple and coconut milk /cream from a can

Whats the advantage of using an Ice Cream maker over a food processor? (I have so many small appliances already, so it would have to really make sense to buy another appliance).

Do all ice cream makers need ice and salt to make ice cream?
How long does it take to make from beginning to end?
Which ice cream maker do you have?
Can you post the exact recipe, please.

You can make it with out the ice cream make and eat on the spot, I was addressing the question of how to make it in advance and keep it in the freezer for shabes and not lose the creamy feel and avoid the crystals.
The ice cream maker is more for things that are not frozen and you run it 25 minutes or according to directions, this incorporates air bubbles as it freezes the fruit pure or cream or whatever.
I can’t remember the brand of mine but is a simple one, no salt or ice needed.
It comes with a bowl that you freeze and then attach to the electric part
