Central NJ, about 2,600 per month 4 elementary school kids, after scholarship. It's a big percentage of our net income, not sure if we can afford it either.

I'm just curious 3,000 for 7 kids - what is your net monthly/yearly income?

7 kids, OOT in the northeast USA: looks like it is supposed to be between $4,500 and $5,000 a month.

We are having trouble paying our rent (under $2,000 a month). B"H for SNAP, we have food.

Now you know why I haven't registered any of them for school yet...

ETA: Yes, insomnia.

Israel. Four kids in high schools which are semi public semi private. Approximately 5,000 shekel per year per kid. So 20,000 shekel/year, which is under $6,000/year. In the USA I paid more than ten times that for elementary school for four kids.

Help! Exactly! No idea how we're going to cover, which is why we haven't registered them yet either. Don't qualify for SNAP. Yes, insomnia. Solution??

For those in EY, tuition seems much more affordable, but does rent and food make up for the savings in tuition?

For years we didn't. Not looking to bargain tuition. But after we foreclosed on our house we learned we have no choice. Now, even with getting "deal" we still can't make it.

Depends on where you live what your rent is. But from what it sounds like American tuition is like, I would say definitely not. But it's not really comparable because wages here are lower, and for many, the standard of living is acceptable at a lower standard (smaller apartments, less cars, etc).

2 kids, 17000 a year once I include building fees.
We are living hand to mouth and scrimp like nuts. I have to manage on 100$ a week for food.

OOT 2 kids, after scholarships, employee discount= $20,000/year.
I have one more school aged child with special needs, we don't pay for as we have various scholarships.
Since I work in Chinuch, my salary is not enough to cover.

At one point, my tuition was over $40,000 with various kids in different schools.

OOT with vouchers, $4250/year for one child in elementary school, not including beforecare ($100/month) and aftercare ($3K/year). We also have a preschooler and a toddler who cost us plenty for preschool and childcare, but I wouldn't call it tuition.

How is tuition so cheap for many of you? In Brooklyn tuition is around 10,000 per kid.

$46K a year, 2 kids, Central NJ. We have slightly diff payment plans at the 2 schools so most months the bill is around $3600 with a few months of the year a bit more or a bit less. It makes life very, very difficult.

We applied for aid when our oldest started high school and had a huge jump in our bill. The tuition committee rejected us because we "save too much for retirement." We both contribute the minimum possible to get our employers' generous matches.
