Wanted to paint the walls in my new house, and found mold under the old ugly wood paneling!! Had I not removed the paneling I wouldn’t have ever known. What’s the best way to tell if the mold spread anywhere else?

So I have to open all the other Sheetrock? I see it on one spot and took off that Sheetrock and insulation

It what you found black mold?
Why are you concerned about mold you can not see?

If you found mold it indicates there is some kind of water intrusion issue. You should be concerned regarding how the water intrusion is occurring because it can damage the structure of your home as well as causing health issues related to the mold.

There are companies that can detect mold. My sister in law used one and they found the exact panels of dry wall to remove.

Is house humid? First thing I would do is set up a dehumidifier and check.
What's on the floors? Carpet? Look under!
