Thanks everyone for your input. He just came home from camp and I went to get the details from him and it turns out his bunk is not joining for the overnight , it’s for the age groups above his. That worked out well 😀.
But I was definitely leaning to keeping him home and maybe him having an overnight by his grandparents upstate. In the end it doesn’t apply to us .
I’m remembering going through this with an over Bar Mitzvah son of mine for his Shabbaton . He ended up going but we made ourselves crazy with ways of how he’d keep it all hidden etc. I think he didn’t sleep either and that’s how he avoided the issue . Having big bedwetters is not easy!!! Not for the kid and not for me. I thought I’m finally over it after one of my kids stopped wetting at age 14 but then my youngest son has the same issue so I’ve been dealing with this for close to 18 years, washing wet smelly sheets and blankets and pjs on a daily basis. Can’t wait until this problem goes away. The pills, alarms, etc. have all been tried with no success.

Could a urologist help the 17 year old?

My DS is 18 now but he wet until 14. By the time he was done my youngest was the age to be trained at night but he never stayed dry, so I never could catch a break. This is something that is passed down in the boys in my family. My father , some of my brothers and some of my sons ,all had the same thing. It takes time and patience. The pediatrician always told me that there was no reason to go to a specialist since we knew it’s hereditary.

Glad to hear that it was outgrown because someone that I know has a 15 year old boy who still has the problem and I don't know what they are doing about it but it certainly limits him.

Can you still try out on him using a double Pamper or Small adult together. Once it doesn't leak he'll be so much more confident. Why should he miss out

I wouldn’t send a kid on pull-ups. You can tell. It’s not worth it.
