I agree with the letter writer. These children need to be accepted into local schools.

I love how people think online school is a cheap option. (One of the comments on that link) How much do you guys in Lakewood pay for tuition? My tuition bill for online school is over $4000, and that is just for kodesh. I still need to pay for chol, (or teach my kid myself) and someone needs to be in the house taking physical care of the child.

As of a few weeks ago, there were at least 20 girls in Brooklyn who had not yet been accepted to a high school.
The goals and primary priority of the high schools have shifted away from chinuch and have transformed into the focus of developing and maintaining a brand.
I myself went through a lot of rejection and heartbreak to get my daughter into a high school.
The only ones who have the power to initiate change and place pressure on the schools are the donors and influential people.
And it's not happenning.
It's a sad situation.

Why do the girls school have this issue and not the boys schools? I can only imagine people see boys schools as a worthier cause, and more tzedaka is directed there.
