I have used West Long Branch Group, does nobody go there anymore?

Ive used them for my first 3 pregnancies. I am currently not with them. They are all decent doctors but nothing that makes them standout. I find the nurses and staff a little nasty and not so caring. People have said this especially about the Lakewood office. It is a large practice, so hard to get the 1 doctor that you like for more then 2 appointments. I've personally had some issues with them during my last pregnancy. Not an issue of competence but more of personal care.
If someone is already there and had no issues so far, I would see why they would stay. But, I would definitely not be my first recommendation for someone to switch to.

I've heard good things about Belkin's practice - maybe look into that. I believe its 3 women doctors.

RWJ. Her issue was the further testing after the specialist said it's fine.

Another huge vote for Dr Jonathan Baum. I have been with hot shot manhattan Dr.s and when I couldn't travel with kids home I switched to Baum and had a wonderful experience. He is probably your best bet from the others mentioned. Very experienced, professional and nice. You will fell safe.

Thank you, I'm getting good vibes about Dr. Baum, and the hospital he delivers in is closer correct?
I feel like if I need to drive an hour to the hospital in labor I may as well stay with my Brooklyn doctors and deliver in Staten Island which is just a little over an hour away.

Any negatives to take into account with Dr. Baum?

BTW.. One thing I found really nice.. Whenever I wanted him for an appointment he was always available. I saw him until my 9th month. Than saw 2 other doctors for my appointments in my 9th month just to meet them. Dr baum actually delivered my baby and only had a half hour warning b4 baby was born at 12am, and he was totally present and calm... Excellent experience and the staff in the office was always very friendly and personable... Hospital is jersey shore and is around half hour from Lakewood /TR.

I have had issues with some of the doctors’ bedside manners in rwj obgyn, it seems on who you get in the group- some were too cautious and scared me, others were knowledgeable but easygoing. I found dr segal to be good ( even though he’s frum) - wish he would’ve delivered my baby.

I think Dr. Baum appeals to me- from all the posts in this thread. Obviously I'll make an apt and judge for myself but I greatly appreciate all the feedback.
Here's to hoping our ttc works quickly and smoothly!

Dr. Efrat Meier-Ginsberg, if you're in Teaneck, or Bergenfield. She's very good.

Still ttc Mad hasn't been as easy as I thought it would be.
I have my heart set on Dr. Baum. Will most likely try him unless we end up by an RE.
My regular dr. in Brooklyn recommended Dr. Segal but I don't like all the information I heard about his bedside manner (heard irl too).
If you use Dr. Baum please let me know how you liked him!

I use dr surowitz and loved their professionalism and how they made me feel like Im they're only patient every nurse knew me by name.

I pushed for over 2 hours and my dr didn't show any sign of getting impatient she was very encouraging. I was very impressed.

I had 4 births so far with Baum's office. every single one of them was great. would highly recommend. though I've really seen teh office grow wtih much more frum clientele tehn when I started using him for my first but still not as swamped with frum couples as other lakewood offices.

Baum is amazing and if not for him I would have had a c-section by one of my births. He's calm, competent adn feel very comfortable asking him anything. the other drs there are good but I still like baum the best. there is one very new doctor which made me a bit uncomfortable but he told me she discusses everythign together so made me feel better.

The only thing that bothers me is the fact that if you call the office with a question it can take sometime for them to get back to you. sometimes you have to call a few times until you get a response. I complained about it and they told me that if it was something really urgent they know to get back to you immediately thought sometimes I felt my question was urgent enough but they did apologize and said that its the way things go sometimes when they are very busy...

I'll just mention OGOA. Very happy.
It's a team of 5 doctors and 5 midwives everyone's very sweet and caring. Katie's the best of them all!

I used Dr. Hakimi in Clifton, NJ. Not close but 100% worth it. I had been TTC for 2 years and he helped me out with that. BH the cycle that was to be our last before trying IVF we got pregnant. Literally the office was celebrating. My pregnancy was disastrous with tons of medical issues with both me and the baby. We could’ve both died. I was on bedrest for five months. When he saw things in the scans with the baby that weren’t right he sent me to CHOP and was on top of my case. When he had to break some upsetting news to me about a certain diagnosis he was so compassionate. He was there for us every step of the way. He took our challenge and really really did everything possible to work through it. I came in a month before my baby was due and he sent me to the hospital to deliver. (It was a miracle we both made it to that point.) I told him I was only going if he came along with me. (His associate was on call for deliveries that night.) He came with me and did my c section even though he was not on call. He is a frum doctor which I found to work in my favor. (Also there’s nothing like your OB telling you that he davens for you in shul every day when you’re going through a tough time.)
BH with tremendous nissim and a NICU stay everything worked out with both me and my child. But Dr. Hakimi was our shaliach from HaShem. He was recommended to us by Rabbi Gissinger a”h and we couldn’t have gotten a better recommendation. I can’t imagine using anyone else.

Sounds like you're leaning towards Dr. Baum but in case you're still deliberating, I have only wonderful things to say about both Dr. Tal and Dr. Roman's practice, as well as Dr. Surowitz. Dr. Surowitz delivered 3 of my kids while she was in Dr. Tal's practice and she was incredible. After one of them I had a complication and she was so compassionate and incredible. She also did a D&C for me once and I felt so cared for. She is professional, kind, gives you all the time you need, and she "gets it" cuz she has pushed out a number of her own kids herself, unlike any male doctor out there!

When she opened her own practice, I decided to stay on with Dr. Tal (because Rabbi Gissinger zt"l had sent us there) and I am still very happy there. Dr. Tal delivered my 4th kid and he was incredible. He stays calm and can handle anything, and it was my easiest birth and recovery by far, which I attribute to the technique he uses to help women deliver. People can complain about his bedside manner but my experience is that he ALWAYS gave me the time I needed to ask any questions I had, and I really didn't mind him. I always felt confident that he knows what he is doing and is equipped to deal with anything that comes up. Dr. Roman is excellent, compassionate, and more than one person I know who were delivered by her told me that she was even better than Surowitz or Tal, if that's even possible. Their nurse practitioner Katie is really nice also. The office staff and nurses are sweet, funny, and helpful. They also have sonography and labs on site (not sure if nowadays any doctors don't, though...)

Same experience!! They are the 3rd practice that I am using and so far they definitely seem the best. The office staff is very friendly and pleasant. The wait isn’t long. The doctors and midwives seem professional, competent and caring. And they deliver in community hospital in Toms River so it’s super close.

I am always stunned when I hear women who refuse to go to female GYN bc they're afraid they "won't be professional" or "as good as a male physician". Op even said she's concerned that the dr may be too friendly! From experience, I believe that it is mostly chassidish women who feel this way, bc they themselves are not college educated, so they think women at large can't be as educated as men or as professional! Females make up more than 50% of medical schools these days. I work with non-Jewish women who won't go to a male GYN, which is why I don't understand going to a man for something as personal as GYN, when you can find so many excellent women in the field.
