I usually can remove it with some rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover.

Today it won’t budge.

Today DS decides that one scribble is not enough. Can't Believe It
My kitchen chair is covered.

What product should I buy to remove it? I googled and there are so many options- some cheaper and some more expensive- I don’t know which to try.

RAmom waiting for your advice and all others as well...

Maybe Mr clean magic eraser; try gently in a hidden area first to check if it damages the finish. You will probably have to condition the leather afterwards.

For those of you suggesting hairspray can you be more specific?

Also has no one had any luck with ink removal products?

Be careful with magic eraser... it damaged my chair when I used it to get off pen.
Alcohol did get it off eventually but test an inconspicuous spot first to make sure there is no damage. Good luck

Do you mean rubbing alcohol? Because that’s the first thing I tried... no luck.

It depends on the type of ink. If it's a Sharpie, there's nothing you can do about it, except have the leather dyed black.

If it's ball point pen, aerosol hair spray works the best. Spray a bit, gently wipe, and keep repeating in small areas a bit at a time.

If all fails, get a can of spray paint, and get creative!

Bump.
I'm dealing with this now. Regular ball point pen on leather look vinyl dining room chairs. I didn't clean it off right away and two days later when I tried I couldn't get it off.

I've tried alcohol, hair spray, magic eraser, Mr clean, windex... cleaning lady even tried soft scrub..! Some things MAYBE made it a bit lighter, but those also lightened the vinyl...
It's been a while back already but now before pesach I want to try again.

Anything else to try? Other than re-upholstering.

I also have on one chair expo marker (dry erase).

you need amodex. works like magic. it’s saved couches and chairs you name it. doesn’t leave a mark but obvs test in inconspicuous area. I never had a problem though. it’s amazing product. you can buy on amazon.

editing to add tht I feel like I rem the person who recommended to me tell me tht once you try other things on the stain it doesn’t work as well. might have made it up though. definitely saved a couch and a kitchen chair. worth a try in my opinion. good luck

I see this in 4, 1 and 0.5 oz. Do I need a lot per application? How much would I need?

I remember hearing that a sunscreen with the word banana in it removes stains.
I have used pink stuff and it removes everything but I wouldn't use it too much

Funny to see this bumped because I don’t remember writing this but I have since learned that nail Polish or hand sanitizer works best on pen- on leather and even on clothes before washing.
