I was debating whether I wanted to sleep in and skip my class entitled "political violence in the age of globalization"
I got a call from my boyfriend to turn on the TV. I kept changing the channels because it didn't seem real. That class ended up being very timely.

I sat on the couch watching the television with my father as we waited from my mother to come home from her Manhattan office. I was 6 and didn't know what was flying. She wasn't picking up her work phone. I think she came home hours later, like around 3. I hugged her so tight
