What happened in 8 hours in CA legislation?
Are you aware?
Yesterday in California, a bill went from
Introduction
through committee
to the Assembly Floor
to the Senate Floor
to the Governor, who signed it
In 8 hours
Without a SINGLE public hearing.
Despite THOUSANDS of constituents outside waiting their turn to speak.
With the passage of this bill, not even a Doctor can excuse a child from an injection that they feel may harm them.
A state bureaucrat is now in charge of that decision. And if they say no, the child will be forced out of school. (to get approved they have to have gone into anaphylactic shock 8 times from the injections!)
Also, at the same time California passed into law a bill that withholds food stamps from families who choose not to inject a product that has no liability.
California sets the standard for the US.
These laws are HERE.
This is about FREEDOM!

Not sure where you get that they need to go into anaphylactic shock 8 times. According to the bill at https://leginfo.legislature.ca.....B276, it seems that even family history would be sufficient in theory (although we know that probably their readers would have issues with that). Your exaggerated fear mongering makes it hard for me to accept any of what you say though.
Parents are also able to appeal the decisions still.

this law was in the legislature for a while already. It didn't just get proposed and pass both houses and get signed in one day.
CA is tired of paying for the outbreaks the anti vaxers causes and are reacting accordingly.
a lot of what you are saying is nonsense, here is what the law says:
https://laist.com/2019/09/10/c.....s.php
it does not apply to homeschoolers.

First they came for the Religious Exemptions.
Then they came for the Medical Exemptions.
And the yeshivas.
Bris Milah and Shechita are next to be taken away.
When are pro-vaxxers going to realize this is government tyranny?

This isn't true. Doctors can still give excemptions, and those decisions will be reviewed/investigated if a doctor gives out more than 5/year.

I think there weren't supposed to be so many of us who knew how to google to read the text of the bill instead of just accepting what the fear mongering anti-vaxers (not all anti vaxers are fear mongering, but there are many, and they succeed in brainwashing others) want us to think. I'm being dan l'kaf zechus here that OP is just passing on the information she heard and didn't get a chance to research it herself and intentionally lie.

The problem here is that there are some physicians who gave exemptions to everyone. Yes, if you are an oncology specialist, organ transplant surgeon etc- yes, most or all of your clients will need an exemption at least for the short term. But a general practice pediatrician shouldn't be trying to get 50-75% of their practice exemptions. And there were doctors like that. Some with even higher percentages.
Some doctors freely gave them, some "sold them" and some lied to get them. So yeah, some oversight is needed. They also clarified what automatically gets approved for an exemption (again, those on chemo, taking anti rejection medication etc).
