Good evening ladies, I'm asking advice from those involved in fund-raising.
I'm writing a sponsorship request to an individual who is well able to assist financially (and does to many other organizations). We are requesting on behalf of a new Beis Yaakov that was nearly closed last year for lack of funds, and is now under the mosad of a rav who wishes to ensure the school's financial security and build an adequate facility (a bigger building, etc. etc.)
The rav also wants to include a request for his kollel of 14 avrechim.
We obviously need a large sum to accomplish this. How much is normal/appropriate to ask from one sponsor?
