Neverland
I have this edition of Peter Pan with gorgeous illustrations, and when I was a kid I read it endlessly and dreamed of Neverland, the pirates, Tiger Lily, the mermaids, the animals... Still do...

They both seem like scary and dangerous places but at least Neverland (from what I recall) follows the rules of logic and for me that is more bearable.
Did anyone see this version called “Alice” (1988) directed by Jan Švankmajer? One of the creepiest movies I ever saw... no clue why my father let me watch it as a child!
