peripheral blood counts won't tell you much regarding immune function but a full immune workup might

If his blood counts are low, then immunity is low & that's why he might be getting sick, bc body can't fight it

Bc I was with my first who was sick for a year. Constant low grade fever, always coughing etc til at least 18m. I did a lot of reading (there's not much on this) and read a study that babies born on abx have ruined gut microbiome and it takes about a year to reestablish itself.

Source?

Breastmilk helps establish proper gut microbiome. Normal delivery helps establish proper gut microbiome. Formula, administered directly into the baby's digestive system, only messes up the gut microbiome for two weeks from the last bottle.

I find it extremely unlikely that antibiotics administered intravenously to the mother during delivery would mess up a baby's gut microbiome for a year.

Here, it says that the effects had "largely disappeared by twelve weeks of age."

I would never completely cut a whole food group out of a child's diet without extensive consultation with a Dr and proper guidance. People here think they are experts. Rarely do specialists (even allergist)tell you to cut out whole food groups unless it is dangerous to eat. They may limit if ingestion, but if there is no danger to exposure and even if mildly irritating, they will say limit it to small amounts.

Your experience is very anecdotal, but I'll contribute my own anectodal evidence- out of my first three kids, I was given abx during labor for only one. That child turned out to be the healthiest, both during her first year of life and ongoing BH, as compared to her siblings. I think there are many other factors at play.

I actually asked my pediatrician if I should cut out dairy (because so many ppl here said to) and he said no. Just to cut down.
