I still have to pick my DD up from her "thing" and then go to Costco.
I need to take my mom to the cemetery at 4.
I have about an hour of paperwork which must be submitted before my boss gets in Monday morning (I was up into 3 doing most of it last night).
My husband will come home from work 1/2 an hour before YT.
Btw, I'm in Jersey, so it is 11:15 here and YT is at 6.
I'm actually not stressed at all.
It will all get done and we will have plenty to eat. My nails will not be polished and my hair-well, let's just say it is a good thing I cover it Very Happy

One year I had a levaya across the country and arrive back home Erev Rosh Hashana. I promptly went to sleep, sent my husband shopping at 1 pm and I guess I cooked on yom tov 🤷🏼‍♀️
But I had no guests.

Meeeee.

Have a work deadline to finish, then I start cooking. Gonna end up preparing a lot on chag itself.

So far, here is my idea of menu:

Out one night

One day meal - Milchig's - Onion soup, Pasta with Alfredo sauce or Mushroom Quiche (if I have enough time to prepare before chag), Greed Style salad with Feta Cheese.

Second Day meal - Schnitzel, Mashed Potatoes or Rice, Fresh Salad

Night meal - Roast, Rice, Tzimmes/Zucchini Kugel, Fresh Salad

Dessert is Peppermint Cake/Choc Chip Cookies

I posted this in the october 2019 forum, but felt the need to share with a larger group...

I NEED TO VENT
BEING OVERDUE IS ONE THING
BEING OVERDUE AND MAKING YOMTOV IS ANOTHER THING
BEING OVERDUE, MAKING YOMTOV, AND THE YOMTOV SCHEDULE IS A WHOLE NEW LEVEL!!!!!!!!!!

I am shaking with anxiety, I can hardly breathe already all day. Have snapped at my husband and disrespected him in front of the children. I feel terrible. I feel like a monster. I was due yesterday and had been thinking all along that I'll be just fine, I can do this.

Am I the only one???

Yomtov is really getting to me.

why? you were planning to be away fir yom tov, and now you need to make yom tov on your own?

I rather any time be at home on yom tov than in the hospital. One time I was Sukkos in hospital after birth, didn't feel like yom tov at all

Gut moed!

Yup, all worked out B”H. I went with one course only for the day meals and I was very happy with how it went.

How did it work out for everyone?

Squishy, how did your meals go?

I am cooking for past few weeks, but was still busy cooking on erev yom tov. Still was busy with cleaning, right before zman.

Some cakes/desserts, I wanted to make, I got gifted so didn't do any of those.

All my food needs to be done before yom tov, my stove is glass top so no flame over yt. My oven closes after 12 hrs automatically, so I can only reheat ready food on my hotplate.

My family didn't want to eat too much.

I also have a glass top. Left 2 burners on, 1 med 1 low. Covered the medium one with an upside down heavy duty cookie sheet. This is not the first Yom Tov I did that with.

My oven also automatically shuts off after 12 hours, but that can be overridden on most ovens, there is a setting to disable the shutoff. For mine I put it into Shabbos mode, but you can turn off the shutoff even without that.
