I'd like to get one for my husbands upcoming birthday. Is there a possibility to be a problem for Shabbos? I see some of them have digital controls....

We have one. It has digital controls and digital temperature reading. I don’t think there are any issues with it. It doesn’t change when u open jt. I guess you need to be careful not to leave it open for too long so the temp doesn’t change
