Is there any issue with using a regular Crock Pot for Shabbos cholent? I have one from a frum store with the flat hot plate but the cholent doesn’t come out well.

Some people hold that you have to put a piece of foil or a coin between the heating element and the crock, but it's not an issue to use a regular crockpot with manual settings at all.
