My playroom is an absolute, total, wreck and it's making me very stressed. There is no built in closet to store the toys that the kids play with. We have all ages so these are the toys:

-Big kid stuff (little legos, lots of board games)
-Little kid stuff (dolls, lots of floor puzzles, dress up, tools, cars and trucks)
-Classics (Magna tiles, clicks)
-Assortment of baby toys - some bulky, some small
-Craft items
-Loads of books, some baby books some bigger kid books

Some of the stuff can go in boxes, some go in bins.
I need an organized way of storing everything.
In theory I would like doors so you don't see anything, but I think that's not so easy for little hands, maybe even dangerous. So I guess shelves?

I'm going bonkers from the mess. I can't afford to spend more than $300 on some organizing system. Please, please, please help me out and post links for your best, tried and true toy storage solutions.

Thank you!

I sympathize. personally I just don't think I can make my playroom work for choking hazards and my baby so I keep my baby's toys elsewhere and consider the playroom the older kids place.

I finally bit the bullet and hired someone to go through my toys with my kids and organize them.

I also sugest that maybe you only keep some of the toys in the playroom and store the rest to rotate...

Can you do some sort of Ikea playroom organization system?

Here are some ideas:

I like the cubed shelves,
I have a 12 cubed one and two 4 cubed shelves in my playroom and I have large toys in large containers in a toy closet that's big.
( legos, duplo, clicks, trucks, hess trucks, dress up,..)
And games on the top shelf.
I also have (three) 9 cubed shelves in each of my kids rooms for books.

I also got the cubed shelves.

Mine are from Ikea, here is the link to the specific model I got (I have two)

https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/k.....5812/

They are pretty well priced to begin with but actually I also got them on sale. Have them about 4 years and they still look brand news.

Then I got the cheapest clear plastic in different
Sizes to organize.

Good luck!

I implemented a version of this for games and it's amazing!

Also card games in index card boxes and puzzles in ziploc bags or zippered thicker plastic bags from linens etc.
