We recently moved into a new house but the coat closet is proportionally small. I have a space in the next room that I would love to use for all kids backpacks and coats. I am looking for a organizing idea that works well. This past yr I used a cubicle shelf where each kid got a cubby but that didnt work out well.
I am looking for a classroom locker idea, preferably something closed to hide the messiness and not too expensive. Wondering if anyone has any great ideas and if you can possibly share a link.
If anyone has an idea that worked well for them id love to hear.
TIA!

We looked into cubbies but wasn't practical for us (one idea is to take bookshelves and turn it on its side to make the shelves be vertical instead of horizontal).
Our best bet at this point is a large ottoman type of storage bin/chest (not a square, a rectangle) and it also serves as a bench -- used for backpacks....and hooks hanging on the wall for coats/jackets. We have cubbies (cloth bins) in the closet for paraphernalia like mittens/boots/hats, etc, one per kid.
