hi.
a relative of mine is trying to raise money for a yeshiva. I don't really know anything about it so I don't actually know if it's a worthwhile cause. I'm willing to give a little something since I like the relative but if I give more then just a little bit, I want to know that it's worthwhile. Does anyone know how they would research such a thing. I don't live in that community. Have no high school boys. Don't usually donate to schools so it's not like I even donate to my kids schools.

Would said relative be willing to give you names of some of the alumni who might be willing to speak with you and you can hear from them what their thoughts were and if the money will be put to good use?
Can you speak to a rabbi in that community (not affiliated with said school)?

Also, I am sure you checked, but did they file a 990? That you can see administrators aren't taking a disproportionate percentage of the income?
