I am curious why so many people in the Monsey area have Fidelis. Is there something about Fidelis that the other insurances do not cover? I'm on United Healthcare and moving to Monsey in the future. All the doctors I'm considering using up there also take United Healthcare, but everyone has Fidelis as coverage because they say Fidelis is the best. Where I'm from, I always thought United was the best. Is Fidelis better up there? Why do so many people have that instead of United? I'm trying to see if it's worth switching. Anyone from here who moved to Monsey kept United Healthcare and is happy?

From my experience the specialists I had to see in Rockland did not take Oxford which is part of United Healthcare. (My OB and my endocrinologist as an example) They all take Fidelis though. I have an easier time finding doctors that accept Fidelis.

I assume you are referring to Medicaid because I have Oxford insurance that I pay for and have never had an issue with a doctor..

No. Non Medicaid. Oxford that I paid for. Dr Zwickler, Dr Dresner and Dr Tenembaum all don’t accept it. These were three specialists I used on a steady basis.

I have always used Dr. Tenembaum with my Oxford. Hmm?

There was a time he stopped but he started again. It was many years ago. But my endocrinologists both stopped taking it and told me to stay away from Oxford. It really depends which doctors you need.
