Big side effect of Adderall is weight loss. I know it’s not recommended. Has anyone tried it? Been successful ? Anyone on it long term? How bad are side effects and how addictive is it really ?

Don’t know anything about Adderall, but vyvanse actually IS recommended for weight loss. It was fda approved (for weight loss) several years ago. I’ve been on it for a year or two and am very happy with it.

I took Adderall for ADD and did not experience any weight loss.
I’d rather stick with something specifically for weight loss than to take meds you don’t need in hope of having its side effects.

there are no magic bullets. My son is in vyvanse for years now and at his highest was close to 390 pounds. The only way he lost it was changing his food. He was in adder all early on but it made no difference

I'm taking Adderall for add.
But yeah, it has completely wiped away my appetite, so I am more in control of my diet, hence a better outcome

My sons takes ADD meds and doesn’t eat all day BUT then he feasts in the evening. He lost a few lbs when he first went on meds but after that he normalized. I don’t think it would help with weight loss.

Caffeine works just as well for weight loss and is OTC.
