S/O of the tattoo thread. I mean the fake tattoos that are meant to look realistic. Same look, no pain or commitment. There may be halachic issues with them, but this is a hypothetical for those who said they would not get tattoos even if allowed.

No, because I'm not an artsy type of person and have no interest.
Dh and I were wondering when nose rings became unaccepted in the chareidi community; apparently in the days of Rivka they were allowed. He'd love me to wear one.

Totally. If I wouldn't have to commit to having it for the rest of my life? What could be better?

If it was normal in my yeshivish community, totally! I love how they look on me-right now I wear them in covered up places, for my husband to enjoy only.
If it were acceptable for me to wear them openly I would, but only small classy ones. A small rose by my wrist, that kind of thing.

If you think there might be a halachic issue with it then why are you asking the question?

This.
For those who like the look, do you not associate it with either a very blue collar or even street games gangs or bikers type of crowd?

No. Societies perception of tattoos have changed as they become more mainstream.
And I might. But I have no idea what the process entails.. of it's anything like permanent ones... Well.. I'm scared of needles.

I don't know how old you are, but I wonder if there's an age divide in this, if it's viewed differently by people older vs younger

I'm young and I'm one of the people who thinks it's ugly and gross. And I know other young people like me.

I think I would. Your title covered the three issues keeping me back: the halachic problems, societal norms, and the permanence.
Tattoos can be quite lovely and they don’t have to be conspicuous.
My husband happens to really not be into them and would not appreciate if I got one.
What would the halachic problems be in regard to a temporary tattoo?

I'm 33. And quite possibly there is a generational divide.

I have seen a classy-looking ankle tattoo, usually flower or other round design. Most other tattoos don't look classy to me.
But I wouldn't want one personally.
