$18, but we give a much a larger check at the end of the year. Chanukah is just so they know we are thinking of them and appreciate the hard work.

We gave my son’s rebbe $150, but that might be on the higher range.

wow. lucky rebbi!
I wish I could afford to give rabbeim gifts like that!
we give each rebbi between $18 and $25 for chanukah and then the same at the end of the year. But if we only had one boy I think we would give $50, but BH we have a few boys in schools here in B-more.
thats in TA and Ner Israel if it makes a difference.

I asked on baltimommies about five years ago when I first moved to town and got responses varying from shock that this was even a thing in town to people telling me around $18-$25. We send a small check ($18) with our boys when they go to the Rebbe‘s house (the TA rebbeim invite the boys over one night, its so sweet) and we participate in the PTA collection for the secular teachers.
