It's a flatbush/marine park crowd. A lot of the parents are professionals. Most of the kids don't look so matchy matchy perfect all the time.

Yup, a lot of Russian and Israeli families.
I like the “matchy matchy perfect” line.
The girls wear sneakers to school, unironed uniforms.
I worked there for many years..

True. But the peer pressure is elsewhere. It's in the brand name sneakers and clothes and the midwinter & chagim trips.
