I dont want to ruin my pretty boots, and my short ankle boots are not practical.
I also refuse to clomp around in heavy duty snow boots once Im indoors and I cant change shoes for practical reasons. also I hate the look of heavy duty snow boots with bottoms that look like tire treads even when Im outdoors .
what can be worn in the snow that is waterproof but also looks pretty when you walk indoors ?

In deep snow, I wear rainboots with thick socks.
Some companies like Aquatalia make fashionable boots that are also waterproof, but they tend to be pricy.

They are waterproof and very warm (even in -20C). I wear them daily from early November to late March and they last around 3-4 winters. They have a nice, tight fit. I wear them to simchas (not weddings!) without hesitation.

ARA boots are waterproof, warm, nice, and great quality. They last pretty long.

Those are really nice. Does Montreal salt the roads or use sand?

I'd consider sharing an order but the link doesn't work because it's for your shopping bag... So I can't see the shoe!

Super cute. Would love to, but not in Brooklyn.
(I've also placed 3 L&T orders since Wednesday 😬)

I would also say that Sorel boots are a fashionable choice, as non-beautiful as they are.

I got a pair of ankle height blondo boots at dsw. They are waterproof. But not super warm. I’d wear them in and out of the car but not long walks in the snow.

basically what Im seeing is you need to get pricey boots for at least 200$ that are nice and also waterproof so they work for snow.
usually I spend around 50-70$ on boots from dsw sale section. 200 seems like an awful lot for me but maybe its time to invest.
one more question- can anyone recommend good uggs that are not uggs- meaning I dont want to spend 100s on real uggs but I also want real leather and shear-ling.
costco used to sell exactly this for 30$- really great quality real sheepskin fake uggs, but sadly I dont see them anymore. any other brands similar?
