Looking for ideas for a 9 y/o boy birthday party probably next weekend. We're in a small city with not a ton of options and I'm looking for something as simple as possible seeing as its erev chanuka and I'm due soon. Only a few of his friends had birthday parties last year (we're relatively new to town) one did a bowling birthday party (probably beyond our budget) and another did a really outlandish party that's beyond our means right now. He's not into sports, more into building and video games.

Can't say I have a specific dollar amount but "as cheap as possible" he has 8 boys in his class, plus a few cousins and my own kids. My other son has a much bigger class so I don't want to set a precedent of a "rented out place" for a birthday party.

A bowling party is probably around $100 which is a bit more than we'd like to spend.

Back to basics!! We used to plan our own birthday parties lol. Like we played pass the parcel til 11th (after bat mitzvah it petered out) and some years if I wanted to play I had to get my siblings to do the wrapping haha

Choose a theme and search pinterest. Like lego birthday party diy. Or construction birthday party diy.
Plan for:
Goodie bags or treats
Food and dessert in a cute theme
Dollar store doable decor
Games - pass the parcel, cut the chocolate (like if it was construction you could use worker man outfit)
A great playlist
