I know about the Chai Lifeline van, are there any other rides/ public transportation to the CHOP / UHP vicinity? Failing that, which taxi is the cheapest?
I keep getting referred to specialists in Philly and have a hard time driving.

NJ Transit has a bus (#317) that goes leaves Lakewood approx every 2 hours to Philly. Its shleepy as it goes local and takes approx 2 hours and 40 minutes but must be cheaper than a taxi (I believe its $18 one way). You would still need to take a taxi or subway to the hospital from the terminal as its a couple of miles away).
There are also many people going to and from daily - I wonder if theres a way to look for a ride.

If I schedule an Uber/Lyft ride, will it reliably come at the pickup time and get me there for my appointment?

I know you can schedule in advance or just request one when you want to go. Usually the response time is pretty good. It may be better to request, though, because normally the driver doesnt know where you're going until he actually picks you. If he sees its CHOP he may cancel as its a 3 hour hour round trip and they dont get paid or reimbursed for gas and tolls back, but if it scheduled (I think) they'll know where theyre going in advance. Someone else can confirm that, though. Good luck

Call Chai Lifeline. They can probably assist you.
There used to be a sign for people to post seeking/ offering rides on the bulletin board in the kosher pantry in CHOP. I have not been there in the last year, so I'm not sure if they still have it.
