I made the apple strawberry filling for apple strawberry kugel this morning. I left the apple strawberries to boil too long and it has this mushy consistency.
Is it still good for kugel? Should I bother making it into apple kugel or should I just remake?

I am sure it's good. Use a thinner layer of the fruit between the top and bottom crumbs. You cana also mix in a tablespoon of cornstarch in the fruit before layering.
Enjoy!

So you boiled the apples with the berries? Seems to me the recipe gives two choices, to use apples as the filling or berries. Although it sounds delicious to just combine the two..
