My 13 year old needs a little motivation in one area so we're starting a new contest. As rewards, she wants to earn a scratch-off paper with a different treat or privilege each time. I ran out of ideas. Can you anyone think of anything else? Nothing too pricy-she doesn't have major expectations yet. No electronics or late bedtimes.

So far I have these:

Win $1/$2,etc.
Chocolate bar
Trip to 7-Eleven
Free Shabbos job
$3 to spend at Dollar Tree
Coffee with Mommy
Scratch-off lottery card
Ice cream
Sleepover with a friend
Manicure

Thank you so much!

Hot breakfast
Special snack or lunch for school
Java latte kind of drink

Could you build in more quality time? Manicure with mommy. Accompanying Ma in errands (let's say Costco and she gets a soda or KRM and she chooses a treat)
Sushi

I'm definitely using the sushi and special lunch and snack ideas!

She's been my errand assistant for years--complete with all the perks.

Thanks!

If she takes a bus to school you can take her with car so she can sleep in longer, on one day.
Let her volunteer
New fun eyeglasses
Take her along to a wedding/ simcha instead of her having to babysit at home
or let her friends join her in babysitting.
Make popcorn/peanut chews/ cupcakes/cookies with her.

You can do a big jigsaw puzzle with her.
it's endless, as long as you don't say enough I will keep thinking! lol!

"Coffee" for us means caffeine for me and juice for her lol. We usually share a muffin.

Manicure isn't the same as what you and I would do. For her it means she gets her toenails painted for $3 by the beautician and she's happy. (She calls that a manicure even though it's her toenails Very Happy)

I think anything like the bolded is best-- anything that she enjoys that involves spending time together. Could be baking something of her choice at night just the two of you after younger kids (if you have any) are in bed, if she likes baking. We live right near a beautiful park and a 7-11, so a walk to, and in the park together followed by a slurpee is wonderful treat. Really anything that's special for her-- but your full attention, enjoying time together will be the best part.
