I posted earlier about a babysitting agency but I didn’t know it doesn’t exist xD

Does anybody know of a cheap babysitter or playgroup that I can drop off my baby into? My baby is going to be 5 months in a few days.
We are new-ish to Boro park and kind of don’t know anybody.
I’ll bring diapers a bottle an extra outfit wipes etc
Thanks

You should be looking for a good, clean, safe childcare, NOT a cheap one. Most drop off babysitter's charge around the same amount.

Thing is we are really tight, and I want to help my husband with the bills which is why I asked for cheap or at least something that won’t take my entire paycheck.
So I decided why not get a job.
How much do they normally charge?

I know you might be tight, but proper child care is not the place to be skimpy.
Most typically charge around $7-$8 an hour give or take.
If you and DH are working, maybe you can try applying for daycare. Try calling yeled v'yalda to see if you qualify.

Best to ask the neighbors who babysits in the neighborhood.

If you want to go subsidized route, ther are voucher programs such as little munchkins. Daycare in Bais Yaakov. I don’t know the qualifications and how to get on these programs

What do you consider cheap?
Most drop off babysit in Brooklyn charge between $5-$6 an hour.
Are you income eligible to receive childcare vouchers?
I agree with above poster that you should look for good, clean, safe childcare.
I was using someone who was charging $5 bit the level of care was not something I was comfortable and switched to someone who charges $6.
