Not sure what insurances he takes, but Dr. Zohn is a root canal specialist. He did my son's root canal when he was 10. It was a very positive experience.

The best in your situation is to call well care and ask them to give you a list of dentist that do root canals and accept their insurance!
Once you have a name you can ask here if anyone has heard of them!!
Mt friend was looking for a dr and they didn't have anyone on their plan, they authorized the vidit to another dr!
But I can't imagine they don't have any root canal specialist!
(On amerigroup you can search online for the information!)

Is it a baby tooth (pulopotomy) or adult tooth (root canal)?

When I called dr blum's office they gave me an appointment 10 days later but I called them about twice a day telling them that my son was in pain and they add a new app for me within 2 days!

OK.

Aside from finding a dentist that accepts Wellcare, find out if Wellcare covers most root canals altogether. Have you had root canals done that were covered by Wellcare?

Also, having had children who required root canal procedures- It's not an easy procedure. You and your child need to feel comfortable with the dentist you are using. Don't just take anyone who accepts your insurance (if the insurance will cover root canals altogether). If money is tight, try to find a good dentist, whom you trust, who will allow a payment plan. Ten years old is young to sit through a long dental procedure.... You should look around for a reassuring, competent, easygoing dentist. Some random dentist who takes your insurance may be second rate. Or third rate. Not what you or your child need.

I say this as someone who's been through a few root canal procedures myself, and who has had children with pulopotomy procedures and root canals. And who needs to consider finances carefully.

Good Luck.
