I think that depends on how well you get along with your family.
Other things to consider are schools, shuls within walking distance, etc.
You can always make friends, and they don't always have to be your age. As an older mom, I was often almost 20 years older than the other mom's with kids DD's age. I made friends with all the bubbies my age, who didn't have any kids at home. You learn to see people as individuals, not just as ages.

It depends on how far family is. If family is an hour or less, I would chose the new community.

I already have some friends in the new community and have met others who all seem very nice and friendly.

Well... I'm a few years in to living far from family, and I can tell you that I've come to rely on my friends as family. If your family is too far to visit regularly, please consider what you'll do when emergencies crop up/when you need a helping hand/give birth, and make sure that you set up that support system wherever you're living

I live far from family. It was fine when my kids were little because I was busy and had friends with same age kids but now in middle-age, I sometimes think how I would love to be closer to family. Also, there's something about kids having cousins, aunts and uncles and grandparents nearby....I think it gives them confidence.
