Should I get stainless steel? Does it work for cakes?

But not recommended to heat the oil in the pan first and then add the kugel mixture (as many recipes say to do) - I just put a little room temp oil in, and then I add my mixture. I think that still gives it a decent crust - even though it's not been heated.
(I heat the rest of the oil for the recipe in a different pan in the oven, and add it to the kugel mixture, but by the time it's all mixed up the mixture is just a lukewarm temp). |
Why not? What would happen if would preheat oil in the Pyrex?
Just wondering... Thanks for the info!

I don't use my roasting pans for cakes. For cakes I use silicon molds.

I have a non stick 9x13 baking pan that I use for cakes and other baked goods but I always line it with parchment paper.

By the way, I just remembered - Ikea sells metal (and pyrex) pans.
I think I am done buying pyrex for a bit. Not long after I posted here, I dropped the pyrex lid of a dish... Wow!
The pieces bounced back up with such force I found one on the kitchen table that is probably around 8 or more feet from where it dropped!
bH noone got hurt.
