We are thankfully no longer eligible for Medicaid but cannot afford the Obamacare payments.
Do any of you belong to a Health Share plan instead of health insurance?
What are the pros and cons? Thank you very much.

They won't share into anything related to a pre-existing condition. They are good for people who rarely need a doctor.

My husband is with Liberty Healthshare, not the Jewish one. He hasn't had to use it much, but I did do some research and was told that they are very good in covering expenses, including reimbursing for cash OB/GYN doctors. They do not accept with a pre-existing condition.

Have you calculated cost with your premium subsidy as many people get substantial subsidies which bring down the cost.
Health shares are not insurance so there is no guarantee there will be money available when needed since states don’t audit their finances.
This would be especially true with the Jewish health share since it is new which means it might be wrong in terms of projecting how much they will be paying out. I wouldn’t be surprised if frum users use more medical care than others in the population because they have larger families and are more likely to want to seek medical care.
