When I was looking for recommendations for a down blanket, someone posted that the down alternative comforters from closeout connection are good.
I didn’t want down alternative at the time so I didn’t ask any questions but now I’m considering buying one or 2 for guests beds.
The thing is, they have 2 types and I want to know which is the recommended one.
There’s a sale now at CC and one down alternative blanket it $20 the other is $30.
Anyone know what the difference is?

The more expensive one is great. I have them in my guest room for a few years and guests always comment how comfy they are. I haven't used the middle of the line. The cheapest are "summer blankets" and really light. I did not find them warm or comfortable to sleep with (my inlaws have them...)

I've been looking for a summer blanket for dh. What made them uncomfortable? I think we may have tried them and they were just low quality.
We wanted to buy a really good thin one from D'Rose, but it had a trim that made using a duvet difficult.
We tried the $50 ones years ago. They felt delicious but way too warm/thick for us. I could see other people liking them.

I bought a down alternative blanket on amazon recently that is too thin for real warmth. Maybe it would be good for your dh? It’s comfortable, just thin. The best thing about buying from amazon is that you can return if you don’t like!

Is this referring to the $30 ones or more expensive then that?

Thanks! He gets very hot while he's asleep in the summer but still needs a comfortable blanket. Does it provide a lot of warmth? He needs something that's not so warm. Thank you!!

I personally never used it. It seems rather thin. I put it on a guest bed but I feel bad that it’s so thin and might not be warm enough.
BTW- closeout connection also has very thin down alternative comforters. I was there and saw them today.

Thanks! I remember now that I once bought the cheaper Closeout blanket for a sleepover the girls were having, and when we unzipped the bag it was pretty yuck so we returned and didn't use it. Now I understand why amother wrote that it's not comfortable.
Their thick expensive one is really nice and plush! But since we have warm mattresses (gel top which traps the heat) they were too warm for us.
