Hi what is the meaning to the name Gad? Is there another name in Yiddish that means the same thing?

However, in school there are likely to be a lot of associations with 'Chad Gadyah'. Make sure he knows the real meaning, so that he can confidently refute any references to goats.

This obviously wasn't the meaning that Leah had in mind when she called her handmaid's baby Gad, but it also means coriander.
The מן is described as resembling זרע גד לבן.
