Please share your secret ingredient that takes a dish from meh to yeah.
I squirt a bit of mustard into egg salad, it makes the taste pop!
(I do not particularly like mustard)

I like to use onion/mushroom/chicken soup mix. It adds so much flavor.
Problem is that I am trying to cook more healthy and I don't want to use it anymore.
Anyone has a good substitute?

Try soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder. That's what's in there.
If you're cutting sodium, Brewers yeast has a great umami flavor that will help in replacing soup mix.

Soy sauce is not healthy. Even low sodium soy sauce is high in sodium. It's the MSG in the so mix that gives it the flavor.

And here I thought I’m the only one.
I put mayonnaise in mashed potatoes. It makes it tasty and creamy.
I put a plum tomatoe cut in half into a vegetable soup and remove and toss the tomatoe once it’s cooked. It adds a savory and zingy flavor.
I add a squirt of honey and ketchup to beef stew

I used to hate making potato kugel because it came out two tone and horrible. Till someone told me to put a cup of boiling water into the egg mixture, mixing constantly so the eggs shouldn't curdle. Game changer! My potato kugels are always delicious bh.

I stopped using soup mix for health reasons. Use a lot of onion powder. Sauted oinion is even better but that's a patchka. There is also frozen onion cubes, garlic cubes, parsley, etc.
For mushroom soup substitute, I hear some take dried mushrooms and grind them into powder in a spice grinder. Or maybe just add canned mushrooms.

Crushed garlic and extra salt add all the delicious flavor you need!
For any soup recipe, start off sauteeing onion and garlic and season the liquid with salt as you taste, until the "broth" formed is really tasty. No broth or soup mix needed at all.
