To help with the price, let her know: she can wear the dress more than once... Shabbos Sheva brochos, friends' weddings, etc. It's not just a one-time purchase.

I wore my vort dress often to friends' weddings. It was a great investment.

Go upstairs in Fashion Island. You can get a beautiful vort dress for under $400.

I forgot. You can get beautiful dresses at Mezzo and as mentioned by Fashion Island and the other store on the same block on Coney, in the $400 range.

Where is Mezzo
Fashion island didn’t have anything in light colors

We went on coney to the other stores that had short party dresses
Dresses were about $1800

Someone I know bought a gown on Instagram and cut it- it looked very nice

I bought mine from Asos (chi chi London, another gorgeous brand is needle and thread) it was black Friday so 30% off. Paid 90. Alterations cost more than that. Still came to under 300 and wore it again to friends weddings.
