How much do you spend on MM?

Was curious what most ppl. spend on mishloach manos.
I feel like I end up spending so much - I usually do something home-made and ingredients can be expensive (I'm doing toffee bark this year). I also need something nice to pair with it. Add to that the cost of boxes or bags and ribbons... it really adds up.

Too much! Each year this stresses me out. We try to keep it low but it adds up fast when giving 30+ out. I try to keep it at max $8-10 per but even that's too much for us with how many people we generally have on our list. Just can't do it this year. We may only give out two 🥺 This holiday has become my least favorite for this and other reasons.

When I do a theme I can get away with cheaper stuff like candy no wine etc.

If you buy a covered box there is no need for additional wrapping, trimming, setting up, which is time consuming as well.

Hard decorative plastic or paper plates are cheaper & you can shrink wrap.

For boxes, bags go to the cheaper stores like the dollar stores or Amazing Savings, Toys 4 U rather than the high end party supply/gift shops.

Also some boxes/bags that you buy in a pack are cheaper than buying each individual

I usually don't spend more then $3 each. This year it comes out to about $2.

My norm is $1-2 each. I'm making 40 this year.
And I'm making 30 smaller/cheaper bags for my kids' friends
I'll do really simple, I'm of the opinion that mishloach manos nowadays is generally a huge waste of money and energy.
I also make a couple of nicer $10 range ones for rebbeim/teachers

Under $4 including the box. The supermarket has lots of nice items on sale in adar so I buy 3-4 packaged things and that's it.

Usually in our shul our Rav gives MM to one person and then has all the men pass it around the shul until they've fullfilled their mitzvah lol. Then I give two lunch or breakfast style mm to two people. Bagel and lox, or borekas and chummus... I usually pick people I dont know so well. My besties don't get. And that's it.

I make pekelach for my kids to hand out. I try really hard to not put candy.

I don't like MM I find it ends up being junky and over the top but I go all out on costumes and enjoy megillah and seuda.

I aim for under $3 each. I do a cheap homemade item, either cookies or mini muffins. I pair it with a chocolate bar, I can usually get it on sale for less than $1.
Last year I got clear pillow boxes (I think from papermart.com but Amazon has it too)

I don't give mm to people not living in my town. We only give to one of my siblings - each sibling gets another one to give to.

I have a few neighbors in my building I give to but not all.

My MM is usually cookies and candy or nuts. The packaging I aim for under a dollar each.

Teachers get chocolate and an envelope. The amount of MM in this category fluctuates.

The Rav my DH uses gets wine/sparkling and bag of nuts or chocolate.

How do people get to 30 MM?

We give about $25- I would say about $50 total .
Last year we did orange you glad it's Purim with an orange juice , 2 clementines , and an orange candy .
Another year we did we are so grapeful for ...
And a grapejuice ,grapes , and grape flavored nosh.
One year we did soup and rolls . Really inexpensive but time consuming.
Sometimes I do a mini cake and a drink.
All depends on our budget and what's going on in our lives/how much time we have.

I spend around $3 per mishloach manos to my friends and neighbors. Teachers have wine and nothing homemade so that obviously comes out to more.
