I like the idea of a theme that doesn’t rhyme

Rina and Gila
Nechama and Menucha
Miriam and Yocheved

I agree with everyone not to give them similar names. They need to grow up as individual girls.
My aunt named her twins Hindy and Mindy. They're getting married already and everyone is still confusing them. It's not fair to do this to kids.

The MOST I would do is 2 names that start with the same letter but do not sound alike at all.

Like Meirav and Michal.

Please do not rhyme them. Ughh!

There are two sisters I know of, close in age, with very similar nicknames. I think it's strange. They actual names don't even have the same letters (ches, chaf, vav, veis), but sound really similar. Why are they called by similar nicknames???!!!

Ok, I know you're curious.

Yocheved and Chava
Called
Chev and Chav

There's also a family that I know of With many daughters. They all have SH names, like Shuli, Shiffy, Shevi, Shiri, etc.
Again, it might be cute, but...

Twins also don’t like being referred to as the twins and not using their individual names

Don't do it, OP, you're setting them up for a lifetime of mortification and obnoxious comments. (But Mimmy and Simmy would be hilarious LOL )

My twins names are ruchi nechama and rivka menucha. They are named after my husband's side. Had no intention of them rhyming.

Am I the only one who doesnt think it is that weird? I wouldn't assume it was intentional - rather that the parents liked the names, and I don't even see how Leora and Leah or Aviva and Chava are similar.

Also, maybe OP is asking for a book?

You could choose a theme like flowers and then do Shoshana and Dalia or heroines and do Yael and Devorah. Alternatively, you could do the same letter like Bracha and Batya or Chedva and Chava. I really dont think any of these are cutesy or would take away identity.
