I have a black stovetop and I can’t get it to be perfectly clean. I’ve tried commet, steel whool, weisman products, easy off. What should I do? Its a frigidere and has sealed burners and is gas

It's not chometz. If you can't get it totally clean, so be it.

I’m just asking how to better clean it. I want it to look shiny and new. My old stovetop commet and steel whool worked like magic

I use the St Moritz cleaner only for this and once or twice a year and then it gets locked up and put away high up out of reach of children. Let the spray sit and then with steel wool and elbow grease it all comes off. My DH usually does it for me . It could be done. It takes time but it does all come off .

Here are clear simple instructions.
The process is relatively simple but be ready to spend time on this project and use a strong arm.

Barkeeper's friend is my jam. I use the powder. There's also a cream.

Read the reviews on Amazon. It's magical.

I also use the barkeeper's friend, but the cream. And I use silicon covers which wash like a dream. Switch them out Pesach for new ones... The barkeeper's friend is used for whatever drips under the covers.

Do you get the grey bottle that says stovetop cleaner or the yellow one that says soft cleanser?

Is bar keepers friend kosher? I don’t have an issue using it in the stovetop but how can you use it on pots if not certified?

From their website: BKF is not currently a certified Kosher product. In the past, BKF has been certified as Kosher, and some earlier packaging had the Kosher symbol. The BKF product has not significantly changed since that time.

I think time is the key more than product. Spray well with Easy Off and let it sit for a good hour or two (vent the room etc...). Then scrub with SOS pads. You might have to repeat the process more than once...

All soaps, including those used for cleaning dishes, may be used even if they are not certified as kosher. The reason for this is that soaps are inedible such that any possible non-kosher ingredients do not pose a kashrus concern.

So why do some have (commet, easy off, soft scrub...)? Maybe for stuff used on pots you do need a certification?
