Okay ladies. Anyone else who has had a super clingy toddler and needed to find a way to entertain them so that you could get through your chafifa? I have a 1.5 hr drive to mikvah so preparing there is not convenient, and DH only gets home in time for me to leave for mikvah.

At least once I have taken a toddler into the bath with me. It's not my first choice, but it does the trick.

I make DH tell his boss that he needs to leave early that day. I hate preparing at the mikva (I always feel like I have to hurry) and I can't prep at home unless he's there.
He either makes sure to work a morning shift that day, or he tells his boss ahead of time that he needs to leave early that day. Twice that didn't work and he only got back half an hour before the mikva closed. Hell on earth.

Can you do chafifa while he naps? Or get him to take an extra nap so that you can do chafifa? (Wake him up when your DH gets home, that way he'll sleep at night but you won't have to deal with the crankiness.Cool )

Leave them by a friend or neighbor. Or hire a babysitter to take him out.

I've done this before

True story- my cousin (12 year old) told me that her mother has an infection and she needs to take a half hour bath for it every few weeks, so she babysits for her, and that she thinks it runs in the family because my aunt called her a few times to watch her baby so she can take a half hour bath as well.
I just responded "interesting" but I was laughing inside.

Playpen with fun light up toys, stacking toys, and baby videos on YouTube

You only need for like 20 min tops while you take your bath. You can entertain him while you cut your nails and take off your makeup.

Or do what I do and take a bath at 630 before work!

Speak to your Rav. I've taken my bath at 6 in the morning before DC wake up. The rest of chafifa I do in piecemeal or with an audience.

OMG good one. But poor girl, she eventually will find out the truth and this is really a horrible lie to tell her.

My neighbor once knocked on our door for my mother ( 2 moms were friends).. it was around 5:30 in evening... I still remember telling her “ my mother is upstairs, she’s taking a bath “! Neighbor looked a little uncomfortable and quickly left.., I’m so embarrassed for my mother even though that happened over 30 years ago!!!
