If anyone here has had early intervention for infants, what did the special instruction do? What about the other therapists, such as speech, OT and PT? It seems like some of them are doing the same things . The special instructor only does one activity with the baby - she doesn't seem to know what to do.

Special instruction for infants is pretty limited because there’s not that much they can do yet. If your baby is calm and perhaps even being entertained, I wouldn’t be too concerned as long as new things are added to the regimen as your baby gets bigger- which happens very quickly!
PT and OT do overlap a bit, especially when the baby is not yet old enough to do much on their own.

We have early intervention - we have ot, pt, and speech (feeding ) and a social worker / case manager who comes every month and kinda reviews the situation and keeps track of his appointments. I don't know what special instruction is . Can you elaborate?

What is her job description?
I am an EI SLP. My lesson revolves around the kid's needs and interests. Most of the time, it's working on expressive language. We play (bubbles, play dough, Little People, dolls, books, coloring, cars), and I sneak some key words in.
